clarity comes through conversations

Clarity comes through conversations.

We need other people outside of ourselves to help us see ourselves.

For example, let me tell you about a time I almost bombed a project, but my friend saved it with some insightful feedback.

I was working on a furniture design project in school a few years back, iterating and iterating and iterating the design.

I got it to a place that I liked. It was fun, functional, and full of character.

But, just before I moved to execute the design, I decided to go back to the drawing board and continue to tweak, and tweak, and tweak.

Eventually, it turned into a bland design with none of the personality that it originally had.

My friend sees it, and goes, “What is that!”

At that moment, I realized something crucial: design (and life) can not happen in a vacuum.

I need community around me to create clarity.

I need other people to speak into my life, just as much as I desire to speak into the lives of others.

So, in places you are looking for clarity, go chat with a trusted friend, colleague, or professional.

It just might help you have the breakthrough that you need.

And if you need help getting clarity on your branding, I’d love to help provide clarity for you.
